Filippo Ganna produced a strong and measured ride to claim second place and a silver medal at the 2026 World TIme Trial Championships.
The Italian clocked a time of 45 minutes and 50 seconds around the 39.2-kilometre course in Montreal to claim a sixth elite World Championship medal in the discipline.
Ganna’s time saw him finish 57 seconds behind Remco Evenepoel, with the Belgian claiming a fourth title in a row in Canada. Paul Seixas (France) rounded out the podium positions, 15 seconds back on Ganna.
Five Netcompany INEOS riders were in action, the joint most of any WorldTour team. Artem Shmidt (19th) was the next rider home in the colours of the USA, followed shortly after by Tobias Foss (22nd/Norway) and Michal Kwiatkowski (23rd/Poland). Colombian national TT champion Brandon Rivera rounded out the team’s results in 45th place.
