Peter Øxenberg claimed an impressive win on the final stage of the Alpes Isère Tour to elevate himself to second place overall.

The young Dane was representing the team’s Racing Academy and put in a strong and consistent performance across the five stages in France.

Powering his way into an elite group of contenders on the run-in, the group were able to chase down solo leader Remi Arsac (Decathlon CMA CGM Development). With the front group back together, Øxenberg put in a pair of accelerations to thin out the group ahead of the final kilometre, before convincingly winning the four-up sprint.

Bonus seconds moved him up to second on the general classification, but finishing on his wheel was overall victor Matisse Van Kerckhove (Visma | Lease a Bike Development). In the end a margin of eight seconds would separate the two.
