The group behind featuring Carlos Rodriguez would eventually regain contact, with August sprinting to third on the cobbled finish in Steyr.

Andrea Bagioli (Lidl-Trek) claimed the stage win, while Gregor Muhlberger (Austria) held on to the overall lead. Rodriguez took eighth over the line.

With a spread GC, both Carlos and AJ held on to their overall positions with one day remaining. The pair sit fourth and sixth respectively, 1:47 and 1:51 behind Muhlberger.
