Oscar Onley put in a strong time trial to take time back on near rivals above him and strengthen his grip on the white jersey
Onley stopped the clock at 36:33 on the 32.1km course, beating Richard Carapaz (EF Education EasyPost) and Felix Gall (Decathlon CGA CMA) as Stefan Kung (Tudor Pro Cycling) earned the stage victory.
The Scottish rider closed the gap to fourth-placed Carapaz to 46 seconds and extended his lead to 57 seconds in the best young rider classification from Jakob Omrzel (Bahrain Victorious) with three stages remaining.

Oscar Onley
“I think I executed the TT pretty well, the body reacted well and I felt I could go deep when I needed to. I’m happy with today.
“It was really fast and a tricky one to pace as there was no obvious places where you recover, but definitely some places where you had to go pretty deep.
“I feel good and looking forward to the next couple of days.”
