Netcompany INEOS is delighted to announce the signings of rising British talent Joe Blackmore and experienced compatriot James Shaw, who will both join the team from 2027.
Blackmore, 23, has quickly established himself as one of Britain's brightest young talents, enjoying a breakthrough 2024 season that saw him win both the Tour de l’Avenir and Liège-Bastogne-Liège U23.
A versatile rider with strong climbing credentials, Blackmore has demonstrated his ability across demanding one-day races and stage races. Despite a 2026 season disrupted by injury, he is determined to build on his early achievements and take the next step in his career with Netcompany INEOS.
Shaw brings a wealth of experience and versatility to the squad, having built a career spanning nearly a decade at the professional level. A strong climber capable of performing across challenging stage races and one-day events, the 30-year-old has demonstrated considerable resilience and determination throughout his career.
Joe Blackmore said: “I’m extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to spend the next three years of my career with Netcompany INEOS. It’s been a tough 2026 for me with injuries, but it’s made me even more motivated to reach my full potential.
“Joining a team that operates at the highest level gives me the perfect environment to keep developing. I can’t wait to get started and contribute to the team’s success.”
James Shaw said: “As a kid, this was the team that inspired me. I grew up looking up to riders like Geraint Thomas, so to now have the opportunity to pull on the jersey and become part of a team I've admired for so long is a dream come true.”
Geraint Thomas, Director of Racing, said: “Joe is a rider we’ve followed closely and someone we believe has significant potential. He has already shown what he is capable of across different types of racing, but importantly we believe there is still a lot more to come.
“Our focus will be on giving him the environment, support and time to continue that progression. We’re really looking forward to welcoming him to the team and seeing what we can achieve together.
“James is a real fighter. He’s shown significant mental toughness throughout his career and has worked incredibly hard to establish himself at the highest level.
“He’s got a diverse skill set and brings valuable experience to the team. He’s also someone who will contribute to the strong British culture we have within the squad, both on and off the bike.”
