Oscar Onley retained fifth overall as he rolled into the finish of stage 15 in a group of GC contenders after Wout van Aert (Visma Lease a Bike) won from the break.
Shortened due to adverse weather conditions, the stage began with a fast and furious start with the fight for the break ensuring a high tempo.
Netcompany INEOS worked well together to navigate the intense 100km stage in temperatures over 40°C at times, keeping Onley safe and ensuring safe passage to the final week of the race.
There was no change to the overall standings, meaning Onley also retains the white jersey for the best young rider.

“Today was very hot and pretty full on. A short stage made it a little bit different to normal, but we did well as a team.
“The last week of the race is hard. There’s two sprint stages to start with, but then from the TT [stage 18] it’s going to be hard.
“I want to try and get back to the level I had last week and see what happens. Firstly, recover as best possible tomorrow.”
