Tobias Foss put in an impressive ride to claim the third fastest time in the stage four time trial at the Tour de Suisse.

The Norwegian champion clocked a time just over six seconds slower than the stage best across the flat 23.7-kilometre course in Aarburg.

That ride elevated Foss to sixth place overall ahead of Sunday's mountain-heavy finale.

Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates - XRG) narrowly edged out the win on the day, crossing the line three tenths of a second ahead of Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin - PremierTech) - extending his race lead in the process.

Also in the top 20 on the stage was AJ August, who would jump up three places on the GC to 14th overall.
